How to Use Webcam Effects for Zoom & Video Calls

Add fun webcam effects and filters to your Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and FaceTime calls. Here's how to use browser-based and desktop webcam effect tools for video calls.

Method 1: Virtual Camera App (Best for Live Video Calls)

To use live webcam effects during a video call, you need a virtual camera app that acts as a webcam input for Zoom/Teams/Meet. The best options are:

ManyCam (Free / Paid)

Download ManyCam, apply effects, then select "ManyCam Virtual Webcam" as your camera source in Zoom. Supports effects, overlays, and backgrounds. Free tier available.

Snap Camera (Free)

Snap Camera uses Snapchat Lenses as real-time webcam effects. Select "Snap Camera" as your webcam in Zoom, Teams, or Meet. Requires Snapchat account.

OBS Studio + Virtual Camera

OBS Studio (free, open source) has a Virtual Camera plugin. Apply any filter in OBS and output to Zoom as a virtual webcam. Most powerful but most complex setup.

Zoom Built-in Filters

Zoom has built-in video filters and touch-up features in Settings โ†’ Video โ†’ Apply Video Filter. No third-party app needed. Limited to Zoom only.

Method 2: WebcamToy.Online for Pre-Call Photos

While WebcamToy.Online can't directly feed into a live Zoom call (it's a browser photo tool, not a virtual camera), you can use it to:

WebcamToy.Online is a browser photo tool and cannot feed directly into Zoom as a live camera. For live Zoom effects, use ManyCam or Snap Camera as a virtual camera app. You can use WebcamToy.Online to create effect photos for your Zoom profile picture or virtual background.
Snap Camera (free, Snapchat Lenses) is the easiest free option for Zoom effects. ManyCam (freemium) offers more control. Zoom also has built-in filters in its Settings โ†’ Video menu.
